Marian Shapiro: Into the Third Dimension

This course introduces students to making and working with dimensional substrates for mosaic.

Students will learn two methods for making lightweight non-flat wall-hanging substrates to their own designs suitable for interior or exterior use. The first will be flat, folded or undulating (or a combination) and the second will be a hollow shape such as a mask or torso using the technique of sand casting.
